Services
Great room, very clean and quiet with nice little touches.
Have stayed in lots of bed and breakfasts and will say Nutgrove cooked breakfast one of the best.
Marker00 via Teipadvisor - more.
The estate had a large 4 or 5 storey cornmill and the farm supplied dairy products to Downpatrick and the surrounding area.
The cornmill ceased to operate in the 1950's and was demolished in the 1970's but the millrace remains and it is pleasant to walk by it through the ferns and trees to the lake where you can fish for trout.
At Nutgrove we have two rooms available for your stay.
These are the Red Room which is a warm and cosy double room and the bright airy Rose Room which has twin beds.
If necessary, a camp bed could be added to the twin room at a small charge.
Both rooms have ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower facilities.
Our guests are offered breakfast in the Dining room and have access to our Drawing room to relax after a busy day.
There are also extensive gardens available for our guests to enjoy.
The Dining Room is where you will enjoy breakfast with locally sourced produce and a welcoming log fire on chilly mornings with a view of the fountain and gardens through the large windows.
You can enjoy a selection of fresh fruits and cereal, bircher muesli or porridge and of course top it all off with a traditional Irish Breakfast to set you up for the day!
After having had a busy day out and about visiting nearby places of interest or having taken part in the many sporting activities available locally why not sit and relax in the drawing room enjoying the peace and quiet as we keep this room TV and radio free.
Take the time to enjoy perusing our collection of interesting books or maybe tinkle the ivories on the piano.
Or why not just take the opportunity to do nothing and as they say just "chillax"!
We have a variety of gardens and walks for you to walk in or just sit in with a mug of coffee and a slice of homemade cake.
You can play Croquet on one of the lawns or Tennis on our hardcourt.
If you are a keen fisher and bring a rod you can fish for trout, in season, on our lake but please return the small ones to the lake.
The garden has been developed and enlarged over the last 20 plus years and has now started to mature but is constantly changing.
Trees and plants have mostly been sourced from local nurseries and enriched from visits to gardens at home and away.
