Forest How is a large Victorian House, dating back to the 1870's, set in peaceful seclusion amidst five and a half acres of natural fellside and gardens at the foot of Muncaster Fell. All rooms enjoy spectacular views across fields to the village of Eskdale Green and to the fells beyond. If you are looking for Bed and Breakfast in the Eskdale Valley, Forest How will not disappoint you!

Our emphasis is on providing comfortable accommodation and a hearty breakfast in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Guests are welcome to explore the gardens and orchard or, if you prefer, you can just sit quietly and watch the abundant birdlife. Frequent visitors to the gardens and surrounding fields include roe deer and red squirrels and you may spot a barn owl at dusk, circling the field for food.

For outdoor enthusiasts the area is a haven for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. Nearby are some of the highest peaks in the Lake District with Wasdale only a few miles away and the steep Hardnott pass leading to Langdale.

In Eskdale may you find the place and moments of peace to capture in your mind the living world as it should be.
Stand or sit still long enough and mother nature will start to show her wonders, red squirrels hunt in the trees, birds of prey scour the skies, buzzards circle waiting for the fallen and the deer skitter though the forest with only a bark to warn of their departure.
