Situated in the Royal and Ancient Burgh of Lauder, The hotel is within walking distance of Thirlestane Castle and is close to the historic Border towns of Galashiels and Melrose. The Lauderdale Hotel is a family owned and operated hotel located in the Royal and Ancient Burgh of Lauder on the A68 just 25 miles south of Edinburgh.
Situated in large private gardens, the hotel offers guests a warm and welcoming base to explore the many attractions and activities available in the Scottish Borders whilst being close enough to the nations capital to explore all that Edinburgh has to offer.
Originally built in the late 19th century the Lauderdale Hotel is the oldest continually operating hotel in the area, having started life as a 'Temperance House' and is just one of a number of historic buildings in the immediate area.
Our Kitchen is the heart of our business, Head Chef Martin has cooked across the world and returning to his native Scotland, has brought this experience home with him.
Together with his team Martin sources his produce locally and prepares all dishes on our A la Carte menu fresh to order to ensure quality and flavour are perfect every time.
The Scottish Borders is a haven for excellent seasonal produce with a large number of shooting estates on our doorstep and some of Scotlands most innovative small food producers we are spoilt for choice when selecting the dishes for our menus.
