Overlooking the town of Tain - the historic and oldest Royal Burgh in Scotland, Carnegie Lodge Hotel enjoys the benefits of a countryside outlook while only a ten minute walk from the town centre. Tain itself lies on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth, in Easter Ross. The area is reputed to have the lowest average rainfall in Scotland.

Sitting on the A9 trunk road leading north through Inverness and all the way up to Wick in Caithness, Tain is well situated to be used as a central staging post for daily tourist trips around the north and west.Carnegie Lodge Hotel is owned and managed by Derek and Heather Wynne, a husband and wife team, supported by a genuinely happy and cheery 'family' of hand picked catering and hospitality staff.

Throughout, the hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated, with a special emphasis being placed on providing relaxed and friendly surroundings and atmosphere. The area provides for a number of outdoor pursuits such as golfing, and is literally speckled with no less than 12 championship courses within one hour's drive.

You can expect a warm welcome when you visit our spacious restaurant, seating up to 80 in a well spaced and enjoyably comfortable environment.

Succulent dishes are expertly prepared and distinctively presented by our award winning chef, Sandy Sutherland and served up by our team of experienced and cheery waiting staff.
The restaurant offers three individual menus - Weekday Set Lunch Menu choose from 2 or 3 course, Lite Bite Menu, Sunday Lunch Menu and in the evenings choose from our Restaurant Menu.
As with everything at Carnegie Lodge Hotel, we place a strong emphasis on customer comfort and satisfaction.
In this regard our rooms are no exception and are maintained to a very high standard by our full time housekeepers.
The hotel offers nine rooms, all of which provide en-suite toilet and power shower facilities.
Each room is fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, fresh fruit, iron and ironing board.
Telephones in each room provide outside line access in addition to a direct link to the hotel reception should you require room service.
We hold a Civil Licence to host weddings in-house and to accommodate you on your own special day.

In addition to the various hotel departments such as restaurant, bar and bedrooms, Carnegie Lodge Hotel is an ideal venue for holding a number of special events.
The hotel is surprisingly spacious thanks to a well thought out floor plan arrangement, and can easily accommodate a range of functions with varying individual demands.
The hotel can accommodate wedding parties of up to 80 seated guests, and up to 125 evening guests.
It is also possible to book the entire hotel for special functions where you may require scope, privacy and dedicated service.
Carnegie Lodge Hotel is located on the opposite side of the main road (A9) to the town of Tain.
Upon reaching the outskirts of Tain, look for the turn-off for Jubilee Drive.
The hotel is clearly signposted at this junction.
Once you have turned off the A9 onto Jubilee Drive, take the first left - then almost immediately first right - drive on for 100 metres and you're here.
