The Peacock at Rowsley, originally a manor house, is a boutique Peak District hotel located in the heart of Derbyshire.

Close to the market town of Bakewell and a stone's throw from Chatsworth House, the hotel offers an excellent base for exploring the Peak District. The hotel is part of the Haddon Estate and enjoys close links with Haddon Hall where The Peacock owners, Lord and Lady Edward Manners, currently reside. Perfect for a relaxing break, with individually styled bedrooms and a luxurious suite, this independent hotel, set in a grade 2 listed building, aims to provide exceptional service, food and comfort.

The Peacock at Rowsley has fifteen bedrooms, from cosy single rooms to bedrooms with four-poster beds and one of the best hotel suites in the region.

The Peacock at Rowsley has been a hotel since the 1830s and is part of the Haddon Estate, owned by Lord and Lady Edward Manners who live at nearby Haddon Hall.

Dating from 1652, The Peacock is furnished with antiques and set in beautiful gardens leading down to the banks of the River Derwent, where you might enjoy a spot of trout fishing.

Located near Bakewell, just down the road from The Peacock, Haddon Hall is the home of Lord and Lady Edward Manners, owners of the Peacock.
Here are a few hand picked circular walks directly from the Peacock's front door taking in some of the best Derbyshire countryside.
They are proper walks which mostly avoid roads; are not too challenging and very beautiful.
A 10k circular walk from the Peacock exploring Stanton Moor, with fabulous views in all directions.
See the "Nine Ladies" stone circle and stop for an excellent pint at the Flying Childers in Stanton village.
This route takes you from the front door of the Peacock through Rowsley village to the top of Coombs Valley with fabulous views towards Bakewell to the north and Matlock to the south.
Gastronomy sits at the core of our hotel.
Our restaurant team have been the proud bearers of three AA rosettes - the top ten percent in the country - for a number of years.
We offer both an indulgent, fine dining menu and a more relaxed bar menu to suit most tastes or moods.
The key behind each dish served at The Peacock is seasonal, quality ingredients - something Head Chef Dan Smith is passionate about.
