The Bridge End Outdoor Centre was once the school for the local area but it is now run by a voluntary committee and offers accommodation to groups looking to enjoy Shetland's spectacular landscape. The building itself provides self-catering facilities for parties of up to 26 people while the grounds can accommodate caravans, boats and tents. The centre has full kitchen and dining facilities along with a comfortable sitting-area.
This is a suitable area for lectures, workshops and recreation etc and free Wifi is provided. There is also disabled access toilets and showers as well as a fully equipped laundry and drying room. In the past pupils would each bring a piece of peat for the schoolhouse fire but now we use electric storage heaters in the public areas, supplemented by panel heaters in the dormitories.
We also offer the Building for day hires, perfect for training events, workshops and parties! We also hold our own events throughout the year. The islands of East and West Burra are known for their outstanding scenery and beautiful beaches.

The Bridge End Outdoor Centre is the perfect place to stop by on your tour around Shetland.
The site has 4 touring pitches suitable for caravans and motorhomes, each with access to power and water as well as a chemical toilet disposal point.
Immediately to the south of the main building is a level grass area suitable for camping.
You are also welcome to pitch tents within the walled garden area if the wind happens to pick up (as it often does) and you're in need of some extra shelter!
