Slemish Barn
We are homely, comfortable budget accommodation located less than an hour from both the Causeway coast and Belfast by road. Located at the Gateway to the Glens of Antrim halfway between the beautiful fishing village of Carnlough and the garden village of Broughshane (of Channel 4 "Village of the Year" fame), we can cater for a wide variety of guests in up to 38 beds in both private rooms and dormitories.

We can also host a wide variety of functions, parties, corporate groups and retreats. We are available to be booked for large groups of 15 to 38, who want sole use of the building, for a price starting at 360 a night which can work out at less than 10 per person, or for individual rooms. Within the local community we have connections with the following local cultural activities.

If your traveling or just looking for a quite place to get away, SLemish Barn is the place for you! Staff was so friendly. I got a flu and the owner took care of me and gave me tea. Never met such friendly people.
Services
We are located between the award winning floral village of Broughshane and the picturesque fishing village of Carnlough in an area know as The Braid, Gateway to the Glens.
Slemish mountain is close by where St Patrick is reputed to have lived.
We are also nearby the market town of Ballymena where there are good transport links to the rest of the province.
We are a contemporary, budget accommodation facility that can cater for numerous types of functions, parties, small weddings, conferences and groups.
Slemish Barn is available to be booked as a whole building or as separate rooms as detailed below.
Unfortunately we cannot offer instant booking for both the whole building or the individual rooms for the same dates.
We have set it up that individual rooms (and not the whole building) can be booked instantly approximately 2 months into the future but beyond that date there is the option of booking the whole building and not the individual rooms.
If you are looking to book individual rooms more than two months in advance or the whole building in the next two months, please email us direct and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
At the present time, we are sorry to announce that we will not be opening for guests at the present time and we are currently not bookable online.
The communal nature of our setting makes it harder to manage all the necessary restrictions in order to keep everyone safe.
We are currently researching how we can put together a risk assessment that will allow us to open again.
We are keen to ascertain what demand is out there for budget accommodation provision such as ours in the present circumstances so we would welcome anyone who is interested in booking with us to get in contact through email or messaging and have a conversation with us about what guests may be able to agree to in order to keep everyone safe, eg using gloves and face coverings when using the communal kitchen.
This means a group of 30 people staying for 3 nights will work out at 10 per person per night.
Exclusive use of the building includes all sleeping spaces (4 private ensuite rooms and 2 dorms), all social spaces (including large comfortable dining/ sitting area and large function space), well equipped kitchen, generous parking and outdoor spaces, and free wi fi.
Catering packages for groups are typically around 10 per person for light breakfast and evening meal served by the group in the Barn.
Lunches also available on request, including packed lunches.
