Under the expert direction of our chef Mike MacDonald and with access to some of the freshest local seafood, game, and local produce eating at Langass will become and remain a memorable part of your stay with us. With over 20 years under the same management and ownership, we believe we can provide our guests with a unique hospitality experience. Over the years, we have fine tuned the dining experience making the best of local produce, seafood and game for our lunch and evening menus.

The original Lodge has been sympathetically updated and extended to maximise the views and create a light and airy atmosphere. New rooms built into the Hillside offer an extremely high standard of accommodation but continue to reflect traditional highland style. Situated in our own extensive grounds, the Lodge presents an ideal location for guests who wish to travel with their dogs.

We welcome dogs in all of our public rooms except the restaurant. Very handy for the stone circle, just a short walk away past the garden where it is possible to sit in good weather.
Services
Niall has spent his whole life on North Uist and has a wealth of knowledge about fishing and boating on the island.
He dives regularly for the fantastic scallops you will find on our menu and he could not imagine living anywhere else.
Drafted in in 1995, Amanda enjoys exploring the island by kayak and is responsible for gathering most of the mussels and cockles that regularly feature in our restaurant and bar.
Manager Aime lives nearby and loves exploring the Uists on her time off, taking long walks across with moors with her partner and spaniel.
We pride ourselves with the comfort and attention to detail of our accommodation.
We have five rooms in the original Lodge which are regularly refurbished, reflecting the traditional style.
Four of these rooms have en-suite bathrooms and one has an en-suite shower.
A further six King rooms in the Hillside were designed exclusively to highlight the unique Langass view.
These large, airy rooms each have spacious en-suite bathrooms with complementary toiletries and luxurious towels.
Our spacious, modern King rooms on the Hillside take in the stunning views of Loch Langass and North Uist's largest hill, Eaval.
The restaurant at Langass has, over time built an enviable reputation as probably the best place to eat in the Hebrides.
Our Head Chef, Mike MacDonald, a native of the islands has expertly combined modern Scottish cuisine with the best ingredients these islands have to offer.
Our team gather, forage, hunt and dive on North Uist's hills, lochs, sea and shores.
Our restaurant menu changes daily allowing us to present the best of our catch and evolves with the seasons.
Our static bar menu is served in our comfortable conservatory.
From Langass, visitors are able to take on a wide variety of activities for recreation, sport, and relaxation.
With our extensive local knowledge we will always try to point you in the right direction and with our good relationship with the North Uist estate we can arrange fishing and shooting with appropriate backup where necessary.
Fishing on North Uist is varied and exciting.
You may choose brown trout lochs with reputation or break out into the wilder distance and find a rarely fished lochan.
You might choose the unique environment of the tidal sea pools in search of sea trout and migratory fish.
Or you might consider the salmon as your main interest, with established runs into well-known lochs such as Geirreann and Skealtair.
The Estate is now required to follow a mandatory catch and release policy further to legislation passed in 2018 regarding the killing of Salmon in Scotland.
