Summerfield Farm is more than just a holiday venue - its owner Richard Noble aims to offer less able-bodied people, their carers and family, a little taste of paradise. Set in idyllic farmland just outside the coastal jewel of the Yorkshire Coast, Whitby, and close to the North York Moors national park, it features three fully accessible holiday cottages, one of which has a flexible connecting door to an extra accessible bedroom and bathroom.
There is also a superb private luxury static home with uninterrupted views of Whitby Abbey. A cosy romantic stay for 2 or a full-on family reunion, we have the accommodation to suit. Parking is very close to each cottage, making entry and unloading of equipment very convenient. All doors and hallways, as well as ground floor bathrooms and bedrooms, have been designed with accessibility in mind.

Richard has had direct experience of the issues people face, following a life-changing brush with cancer ten years ago.
He was diagnosed with a tumour on his voice box and the operation to get rid of it resulted in the removal of most of his throat.
As a result, he now breathes through a device in his neck.

We had everything we needed to make her stay comfortable and enjoyable, a ceiling hoist to get her in and out of bed and wheelchair, an electric bed to help position her, over bed side table for drinks and meals, a walk in shower with shower chair (and hire of a shower sling) and a rise recline chair in the living area.
