The Teesdale Hotel
All of the food at The Teesdale Hotel we serve is cooked on the premises using fresh, seasonal, good quality locally sourced ingredients. A warm welcome awaits, whether you're coming for a stay in one of our lovely en-suite rooms, or for some great local food, or just a drink or two in our cozy bar. All of the food at The Teesdale Hotel is cooked on the premises using fresh, seasonal, good quality locally sourced ingredients, conscientiously prepared and served by friendly staff.

At The Teesdale Hotel we believe in straightforward, friendly hospitality. Bed and Breakfast B&B holiday hotel accommodation excels at the Teesdale Hotel, a purpose built coaching inn which has been providing accommodation and refreshment to travellers for many years. Our characteristic stone archway, built for horse-drawn carriages, led to the stables and grazing for the horses.

Nowadays, you'll drive through the arch to our large private car parking facilities and our secluded garden patio area (we have been awarded Middleton's Gold award for our summer blooms).

We want you to go home feeling well looked after and enjoying a great well cooked meal is an essential part of that.
Our emphasis is on quality local produce, carefully and simply prepared and presented without much fuss.
Our local butcher (McFarlane's; just across the road) provides great local meat, our trout is brought to us by local anglers, our fruit and veg is all seasonal and locally sourced.
Teesdale is really magnificent walking country, whether you want to go for a relaxed riverside stroll or a more bracing hike, there are numerous footpaths and public rights of way to be explored.
Two long distance footpaths pass through Middleton-in-Teesdale: the famous Pennine Way and the Teesdale Way.
The northwards stretch of both is a beautiful walk along the River Tees taking in Low Force and High Force waterfalls and then on to Cauldron Snout; Englands largest cascade.
Further on the same path High Cup Nick is an awe-inspiring must-see, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of North East England.
Upper Teesdale is a unique and enchanting natural environment.
The views are stunning and the fauna and flora are diverse and abundant, with plants and wild flowers species such as the stunning Spring Gentian that are unique to Teesdale.
This is due to the area's remarkable geological formations; the ramparts of the Whin Sill (a huge edifice of volcanic rock) down which flows the River Tees in great steps producing dramatic waterfalls such as High Force, England's largest waterfall.
This special earth heritage has earned the area the status of the first 'UNESCO European and Global Geopark'.
