We are proud that The Mill House has been a privately owned, family run hotel for over 20 years.
The Mill House is set amidst beautiful landscaped gardens sitting beside the river Loddon in the Berkshire countryside, conveniently situated in the ancient village of Swallowfield, near Reading.
The Georgian house was built in the nineteenth century and for over 20 years has been run under the personal direction of Mark & Kim Pybus whose emphasis is focused on providing comfort and relaxation, fabulous food and friendly service ensuring an excellent guest experience.

We are delighted to welcome you to stay at The Mill House and can assure you that the safety of our guests and staff are of upmost importance.
We have put in place extra deep cleaning procedures of public areas and bedrooms.
Hand sanitiser stations are provided outside the front door for your arrival and throughout the hotel, along with social distance signage to ensure a distance of one metre between staff and other guests.
Cleaning and sanistising will be carried out with the emphasis on high contact areas such as desks, chairs, remote controls, switches and handles.

The Garden Restaurant boasts stunning views across the gardens of The Mill House Hotel.
Both the bar and restaurant have fireplaces, making The Mill House a warm and cosy spot during the winter, while the gardens are a huge draw in warmer weather where al fresco dining is a must.
The menu is comprised of elegant British dishes with a modern twist.
We are proud to use local ingredients, and enjoy providing a welcoming, home-away-from-home atmosphere alongside superior service.

You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome and professional service throughout your visit to ensure your delegates are relaxed and all objectives set for the day are achieved.
Whether it's a meeting room for two or a product launch for two hundred, our conference rooms all offer a tranquil environment conducive to an attentive audience and a productive meeting.

We are pleased to offer dry hire of our beautiful marquee, allowing external caterers to provide cultural food for your wedding or celebration.
The Marquee can accommodate 120 guests for a seated meal, or 150 for a standing reception.
We include round tables, chivari chairs, use of our marquee kitchen, and stunning gardens for your arrival and photographs.
As extras, we can also offer an event manager & co-coordinator, waiting staff, table linen, crockery, cutlery & glassware if required.
