Old Forge Cottage Situated in the heart of the Golden valley, Old Forge Cottage offers the perfect location for your countryside escape. Our spacious accommodation offers you the comfort of a double bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower and toilet, heated towel rails. With many local attractions nearby you will be greeted with an abundance of opportunities to explore the area.

The historic cathedral towns of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester are all situated within an hour's drive. read more › We offer a family friendly environment for you to get away and relax in. With a travel cot and high chair available (requested at time of booking) we suit the very young to the very old. There is a ramp entrance to the property with a slight lip as you come over the threshold but apart from that we are all on one level throughout. We have a covered area that can be used for storage if needed. We provide a set of plastice knives forks spoons, cups, bowl and plates that can be used for children or taken on a picnic.

read more › Take the A49 north towards Hereford. Once you get to the village of Much Birch turn left onto Tump Lane, signposted to Wormelow. Follow this road to the end and turn left towards Monmouth. As you leave Wormelow go up a hill and round a bend to the right. Old Forge Cottage is located on the right immediately after the bend. Please feel free to pull into the driveway of the Lyston Smithy property. PLEASE NOTE: Google maps and iPhone maps may show the location further south than we actually are. We are working to fix this error.

read more › Breakages: Accidents do happen. We do not usually charge for accidental breakages but reserve the right to do so if the breakages are excessive. Prices start from 70 per night with an increase at weekends and peak times of the year. 2 nights minimum stay. read more › Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. The cottage is full of character, warm, cosy and spotlessly clean. The little extras provided by Rowena were an added bonus after a long trip and very much appreciated. The cottage is in easy access to the main towns but has stunning rural views and good walks in the vicinity for taking the dog. Really enjoyed our short break over the weekend and will definitely go back to the cottage in the future.

read more › The story and life of Violette Szabo is much in evidence at the museum along with life stories of the many resistance workers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Visitors can learn about Ravensbruck the concentration Camp that Violette and many of her compatriots were sent to following their capture. The church at Kilpeck, referred to as the church of St Mary and St David, is one of the finest surviving examples of the Herefordshire School of Sculpture. This beautiful building is the home of the community which has worshipped and worked together here continuously for well over 1,300 years.

read more › In the next village of Much Dew Church the Black Swan has been recommenced by many quests staying with us. Located in Much Birch the Axe and Cleaver is another traditional pub, again recommended by many guests. The Kilpeck Inn is located in the historic village of Kilpeck in the heart of the beautiful south Herefordshire countryside, the Inn offers the best local and seasonal food, real ales and fine wines in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All the local pubs are recommended and provide great food.
