This venue and staff are absolutely amazing.
They were a fantastic staff team and so attentive to myself my family and guests from the Friday night right through to the Sunday morning.
Don't be fooled by its "sleepy little hamlet" appearance.
Dunbar and the Dunmuir Hotel can certainly deliver a quiet, relaxing holiday if that's what you want.
But for the more inquiring and energetic, there's no shortage of interesting things to see and do.
Dunbar has a long and fascinating pedigree.
The town's name is derived from early Brythonic meaning "Barr's fort", and an iron age fortification once stood on an open area of ground north of High Street known today as Castle Park.
Strategically positioned at the mouth of the Forth estuary and midway between Edinburgh and Berwick-upon-Tweed, the town was a northern outpost of the Kingdom of Northumbria from the 6th century until it became part of Scotland in 1018.
There are surprisingly good conditions for surfing and bodyboarding off Belhaven beach, and Dunbar's Coast to Coast Surf School (March to November) offers friendly instruction even for total beginners with equipment and wetsuits provided.
They also offer adventure trips to other destinations depending on weather conditions and wave potential.
The surf school's hub and summer office is a short walk from the hotel.
There's no shortage of things for all ages to enjoy in and around Dunbar.
Families with young children will enjoy our sandy beaches on warm summer days, or a visit to the farm-themed East Links Family Park with its train safari, go karts, trampolines and soft play.
The hotel does not always have a night porter on duty.
