Henllys Estate is an historically listed site, dating back to the late 16th century. One of the Estate buildings, within a stone walled courtyard, has been tastefully converted into bed and breakfast accommodation. Each room is en-suite, has a television, tea and coffee making facilities and a stable door that opens out on to the garden with views across the Towy valley.

Guests can also enjoy walks in the estate's nature reserve. This is made up of a lake and 12 acres of ancient broadleaved woodland, surrounded by a further 15 acres of broadleaved woodland planted in 2003. We are only 5 minutes from Llandovery, 10 minutes from the Brecon Beacons National Park and less than 1 hour from the coast.
Services
Years ago, Henllys used to be a grand estate and was a second home for a family from Brecon.
At that time it had about 1500 acres, but in the 1920's it was sold and split up into smaller farms with Henllys retaining the estate buildings, manor house and 123 acres.
Henllys manor house next door dates back to the 1600's.
The Coach House, with the beautiful arched windows, is where we live and that has 1829 carved into the stone above the porch.
The Bed and Breakfast, which used to house cows over the winter, has 1830 carved into the stone and the cart shed and stables on the courtyard where you park your car, has 1831 carved into its stonework.
If you enjoy gardens and historic house, this is the place for you!
The house was sold to the Aberglasney Restoration Trust in 1995 and restoration work began.
A cloister garden found in 1998 proved to be from the late Tudor and early Stewart ear.
We try and visit each year as there are always new discoveries by the archaeologists.
Aberglasney is About a 20 minute drive away.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales is built on the Middleton Hall Estate in Llanarthne, about a 40 minute drive away.
Ideally, you need a full day to see everything and it doesn't matter if there are showers as there are so many greenhouses and buildings to shelter in.
