Subsequently, he purchased Marshwood at auction, when the landlord, Mr Philipps, died.
Historically, as part of the tenancy, he had to have a dairy but he also kept a large flock of chickens.
Now we are mainly arable with a flock of sheep, covering approximately 500 acres.

8 miles to the north of Salisbury is Stonehenge; an ancient prehistoric monument and World Heritage Site.
It consists of a ring of massive standing stones surrounded by a circular earth bank and ditch.
Archaeologists believe it was constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC.
