Carswell Farm Holiday Cottages Tucked away in a small corner of the stunning South Devon countryside with spectacular scenery and fresh sea air, you will find Carswell Farm. Our six holiday cottages are right in the heart of our large working organic dairy farm yet only a few minutes' walk from the coast path and secluded beaches, including our own private cove.

Occupying a stunning position in the heart of the South Hams in Devon, Carswell Farm is surrounded by unspoilt countryside with beautiful sea views. The spectacular South West Coast Path is right on the doorstep, providing stunning walks that lead to quiet sandy beaches and picturesque villages. Actually consisting of four neighbouring farms - Carswell, Lambside, Caulston and Rowden - our farmland stretches for nearly 4 miles along the coast, with the mild climate allowing our cows to enjoy fresh sea air and lush green grass all year round!

read more › Our wonderful little Beach Hut is situated on an isolated, totally private cove which is invisible from the coast path above. Available for 2 people to rent for for 2 night breaks, this unique cottage offers the chance to really escape for a few days! Where else can you enjoy your own private beach, totally isolated, with the most amazing views of the stunning South Devon coastline? Imagine lighting up the BBQ, cracking open a bottle of wine, jumping in the wood-fired hot tub and just chilling out listening to the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks.

read more › The Mews is the perfect couples retreat. Situated on Lambside Farm, this lovely detached stone building was originally a barn and home to a domesticated gos hawk. Named in honour of its former resident, it has been thoughtfully renovated to provide delightful, modern accommodation for two people. Although it is just across the lane from Shepherd's Cottage, The Mews has been arranged to give complete seclusion and offers an open plan living area downstairs with a woodburner, and a modern kitchen with a small dining area.

read more › Situated next door to Corner Cottage, this "eco-lodge" has been built to a very high standard and is incredibly eco-friendly - as well as very child-friendly and dog-friendly! Downstairs there is a slate tiled hall and a bathroom (bath with shower over). Through the hall is a lovely open plan kitchen, dining and living room with an oak floor and a woodburner and large patio doors out to the small sunny garden with a gate through to our lovely wildflower meadow and children's play area - complete with tractor!

read more › Just across the lane from The Mews, Shepherd's Cottage is a semi-detached cottage that was formerly a farm worker's residence as its name suggests. It has been tastefully renovated and offers a lovely cottage with a comfortable, homely atmosphere and great character. Downstairs, the kitchen/living area is open plan with the lounge area at the front. The beautiful chestnut wood flooring originally came from trees on the farm and there is a gorgeous wood-burning stove - perfect for a relaxing winter's night!

read more › In a lovely location with beautiful views, Corner Cottage offers perfect accommodation for a larger family or group. Just off a quiet farm lane at Lambside Farm and only a few minutes walk from the coastal path, it originally housed pigs belonging to the Plymouth Co-operative Society! Converted in the 1960s to provide a home for farm workers, it now offers space and comfort for up to ten people. Corner Cottage offers a wonderful light and airy accommodation for up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms - 2 kingsized (1 ensuite), 2 twins and a room with 2 single beds (one 3' off the ground).

read more › Camp Sorbet is a collection of classic Eriba caravans, occupying a spectacular clifftop field with panoramic views over the South Devon coastline. Offering a luxury glamping experience for up to six people, the camp boasts sea views stretching from Bigbury Bay in the east towards Rame Head in the west. The camp is only available for hire by one group, promising seclusion and privacy with the Carswell cows as the only neighbours. Guests can enjoy the peaceful setting surrounded by rolling South Devon farmland, as well as the easy access to the South West Coast Path (just 300m away) and a locals beach within walking distance.

They can look forward to having great days out from them - building sandcastles, exploring secluded coves, rock pooling, hiring bikes, adventures in ruined castles, trips on steam trains and ferry boats or a day out at one of our great visitor attractions. And then, after they get "home", there's still so much to do! Communal play area with Alice The Tractor and lots of hand crafted wooden toys and logs to play on. We can also offer a soft double sided bed guard (called Dream Tubes) for young children.

Carswell Farm Holiday Cottage owners Geoff & Zoe have two labradors, Trouble & Maybe, so we all know a thing or two about dogs! We believe that if you have a well-trained and well-behaved dog that you want to bring on holiday, why should you compromise on quality when it comes to your accommodation? We welcome dogs in The Lodge, Corner Cottage and Shepherd's Cottages, all of which have well-fenced private gardens.

The South West Coast Path offers plenty of tremendous walks not far from your cottage, while Dartmoor National Park is home to fantastic views and spectacular rural scenery. Children and dogs are in heaven here, either on the vast expanses of sand at Mothecombe, on the coast path or on the wide open spaces of Dartmoor. Some are perfect for rainy days, such as the National Marine Aquarium, while others are fabulous for the little ones, like Pennywell Farm. Here are a few of our favourites including the best local beaches, but go to the Devon's Top Attractions website to find even more. Still home to a community of Benedictine monks, there is a magnificent Abbey Church, tranquil gardens and their famous Tonic Wine. Although situated in Cornwall, it is only 1.5 hours from Carswell Farm and well worth the drive.

There are so many great places to see and explore! Make sure you find time to visit a few quaint country pubs, private beaches, ancient ruins and small seaside towns such as Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo where you will something yummy for lunch - perhaps washed down with a delicious local apple juice or cider!

read more › To help you relax and make the most of your holiday, we offer a number of hampers which are available to be ordered in advance and will be placed in the cottage ready for your arrival. We use local, organic suppliers were possible. Please note, hampers should be ordered at least 10 days prior to arrival in order to ensure availability. Our Devon Breakfast Hampers are full of delicious local and organic food - just the thing to set you up for a day's walking or exploring! Our local BBQ Boxes include everything you need to enjoy a delicious meal 'al fresco', with meat provided by the butchers at Ben's Farm Shop.
