Rescorla Cottage, as you see it today, is the result of a great deal of work. It started life in approximately 1850 as two tiny cottages. The leftmost (pictured) was actually the village forge and by the 1990's was a listed building but had become derelict. Next door was a pit workers cottage. In 1997 the cottages were bought by a builder who agreed to rebuild them if the listing status was removed for the derelict forge.
Clearly, the work to combine the two cottages was undertaken with sensitivity and has maintained, even enhanced, the beautiful building you see today. Nick and Julie, the current owners bought the property in early 2019. They have tried to make your stay feel like "home from home", including for your 4 legged friends (Dog Friendly Accommodation). The cottage is equipped to accommodate 4 people in comfort, 5 people with modest compromise.
We have a king bed in the first bedroom then a second bedroom featuring a single and a single bed that converts into a king.
We think a family of 4-5 would be comfortable, and possibly two couples but please be your own judge.

The Kings Arms at Luxulyan (1.5 miles) 01726 850202 - this wonderful, welcoming pub features really good quality pub food served in large quantities (and as take away if you wish), great local beer and cider and dogs are very welcome.
The Penwithick Chippy (01726 850959) (1 mile) - really good traditional fish and chips with a smile.
St Austell (3.7 miles) - quite a dispersed little town which has most major stores and a nice central high street area.
Par Market & Food Hall (5.7 miles) is where traditional Cornish style meets contemporary Kernowfornia.

St Austell (3.7 miles) - quite a dispersed little town which has most major stores and a nice central high street area.
Par Market & Food Hall (5.7 miles) is where traditional Cornish style meets contemporary Kernowfornia.
We ask for a 250 security deposit/booking fee.
This does not form part of your holiday payment, which is due six weeks before your stay or immediately if booking on short notice.
We love animals and particularly dogs, so you are welcome to bring them to the property (maximum of two please).
Please bring their own bedding, bowls etc and keep them downstairs using the stair gate.
Please collect all their poo and dispose of it properly.
If we find evidence of dogs upstairs or in the garden and have to undertake additional cleaning we will make an additional cleaning charge.
