Colwick Hall Hotel is a magnificent Palladian style Georgian country house mansion nestling in over sixty acres of parkland. A historic building dating back to Saxon times and once the ancestral home of Lord Byron, making it the ideal weddings and event venue in Nottingham. Colwick Hall Hotel, having returned to its former glory, this Nottingham Hotel has a wealth of history and its story continues to unfold daily as we welcome visitors from across the world to our superb conference centre, wedding venue, hotel and restaurant.
The Hotel reception is the original entrance hall and still today displays the diamond cut slate flooring with circular black marble sections.
The new additions were built in 1776 by Samuel Stretton of Nottingham, from an architectural design of John Carr of York, and was originally enclosed with a deep moat, and had a draw bridge on the north side of the hall.
Based in the city on the edge of the countryside, the bedrooms at Colwick Hall are all individually and uniquely designed to give the air of nostalgia with all the modern comforts that befit this luxurious and opulent Georgian country house mansion.
Being Grade II* listed, Colwick Hall not only exudes enormous character and constant charm, but gave us clear architectural language and has made all our bedrooms really have the 'wow' factor.
All our bedrooms are named after famous people across the world in and around 1776 (which is the year in which the house was remodelled by John Carr of York, and is the current red brick face and this is recorded the lead water down pipes with initials JM for Sir John Musters).
