Wydemeet Bed & Breakfast
The most luxurious, highest rated, remote, and romantic accommodation, at the heart of Dartmoor! Yet only 20 minutes from the A38 highway, which links Exeter with Plymouth. For lovers of wilderness, seclusion, secret wild swimming, and properly dark skies; quieter and more private than a hotel. Stylish, sumptuous and indulgent, set in seven acres of its own glorious grounds, our back garden is 365 square miles of open moorland - footpaths and bridleways stretching in every direction from our garden gate.

And not a road in sight! We offer the ultimate central base for walking, wild swimming, horse riding, fishing, dark sky star gazing, cycling.
Services
We offer a luxurious home from home - you are our VIP guests.
We love having people to stay, and thoroughly enjoy your company.
Wydemeet is furnished for family and friends to relax in, offering sumptuous cosy comfort of the highest quality, recently upgraded in a 'Jane Austen Romantic' style, in complete sympathy with the architecture, location and mood of the house.
High in the centre of the moor, Wydemeet is a family home, less than a mile from the local pub; surrounded by wilderness, animals, and a certain amount of mud.
145 per night based on two sharing for two nights.
Spacious double-aspect room with the 'WOW!' factor!
Flooded with sunshine in the mornings, creams and golds, huge mahogany six foot bed with deep medium/firm 3000 pocket sprung mattress, electric blanket, thick crumply duvet and luscious pillows - you won't want to climb out in the morning!
Breathtaking views of garden, moorland, trees and fields beyond.
Large en-suite bathroom looking out across the garden to our horses' natural pasture full of wild flowers.
The only 'Door to Moor' riding holiday on high Dartmoor.
Just one or two of you, plus non-riding friends and partners.
Wydemeet all to yourselves, and every need catered for!
After a gastronomic breakfast in Wydemeet's elegant dining room, you'll mount your well-mannered hunter and trot direct out of our gate onto remotest moorland.
A couple of hours' ride, at a pace of your choice, for lunch at a local pub, and home, back a different way, in time for tea and cake and crumpets in front of a roaring log fire.
We sometimes accept single night bookings (only on weekdays during the summer) with a 30% supplement, and bookings for single visitors with a 12.5% reduction, but you'll need to contact us direct about these.
We're sorry, but we don't take credit cards, so on receipt of your booking we will email you to ask for a deposit payable by cheque or transfer, the remainder to be paid by cash, cheque or transfer at some time convenient to you during your stay.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Increasing numbers of people are suffering from mental health problems during these difficult days, and maybe I'm becoming one of them.
I seem to be becoming a bit OCD, if I wasnt already.
I cant bear sitting doing nothing watching 'A Place In The Sun' all day, while my coffers dry up as no one is allowed to come to stay, so I've been turning myself into an entrepreneur, to keep myself vaguely solvent and occupied.
I have graduated from selling designer scarves and sunglasses, as well as Ford Fiestas to people with children learning to drive, to focus on one niche area: Hermes Scarves (www.hermesscarf.co.uk).
