The Red Lion Inn, Hognaston is a traditional seventeenth century, family-run inn nestled in the small village of Hognaston on the edge of the Peak District National park, overlooking Carsington Water, renowned for its scenic beauty. With its traditional country pub atmosphere, the Red Lion Hognaston's bar will welcome and refresh even the weariest traveller, particularly with its open fires roaring on the coldest days.
Enjoy a pint of one of our guest ales, a glass of wine or a refreshing, freshly-made cup of tea or coffee while you choose from our Menu or check the bar's chalk board for the day's specials.

A most satisfying Sauvignon Blanc, luscious, bone dry, with zesty citrus overtones, as good as a small "Sancerre"!
Typical Chilean Chardonnay with a fresh and powerful bouquet and plenty of tropical fruit flavour lingering on the palate.
Restrained yet richly intense, nettley and ripe lemon aromas.
Fairly full with fleshy citrus, stone fruit flavours, balanced by crunchy pebble-like acidity.
A smooth and very fruity Cabernet Sauvignon, packed with wonderful aromas of blackcurrant and a slight oaky flavour.
