Ship Inn The
Built in 1771, The Ship Inn Stonehaven is more than just a historic property: we're a small, friendly hotel where the warmest of Scottish welcomes awaits. Our hotel, which occupies a prime spot on the edge of the harbour, has 11 comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Well-appointed with fast, free WiFi, each room is individually styled and most have harbour views.

Our restaurant, The Captain's Table, serves up a fantastic, varied menu of home-cooked food, with seafood our speciality. Next door, our lounge bar - complete with an outdoor sun terrace - has an extensive collection of single malt whiskies, Scottish craft gins, draught beer and real ales. It's the perfect place to meet the locals or relax and watch seaside life go by.

We're just 20 minutes from both the bustling city centre of Aberdeen and Aberdeen International Airport, with the region's castles, whisky distilleries and world-class golf courses right on our doorstep.
Services
The Ship Inn, which sits on the edge of historic Stonehaven harbour, is one of the oldest inns along the Aberdeenshire coast.
Although the property is steeped in history, we keep one eye on the future, regularly investing in the hotel, restaurant and bar to ensure we are offering the best possible guest experience.
Owned and operated by S. J. Cruickshank Limited, The Ship Inn has been part of this small independent firm for two decades.
Proprietor Simon Cruickshank has a long-running career in the hospitality and licensed trade and has operated venues in Stonehaven since 1988.
The Ship Inn has 11 individually-styled en-suite bedrooms.
Comfortable with modern amenities, all of our bedrooms come with free WiFi, flat screen televisions, hairdryers and tea and coffee making facilities.
In addition to our double and twin rooms, we have rooms suitable for families and single travellers.
Many of the bedrooms have views of Stonehaven harbour, allowing you to simply sit back, relax and take it all in.
None of our bedrooms are on the ground level so are not suitable for wheelchair access or for those who have difficulty using stairs - we do not have an elevator.
Or would it be comfy seating around a cosy fire to keep the chill out during the winter months?
Perhaps a sun terrace where you can enjoy a summer's day, relaxing with a cold drink and taking in the sights and sounds of harbour life?
If you think perfection doesn't exist, then you've never visited The Ship Inn as we offer all of the above and more in our family-friendly lounge bar.
As one of the oldest inns along this stretch of Aberdeenshire coastline, you'll find nods to our nautical history throughout the bar, where our regulars happily welcome visitors like old friends.
Our restaurant, The Captain's Table, offers a mouthwatering combination of fantastic food and stunning views, garnished with a warm welcome and friendly service.
The Captain's Table has earned an excellent reputation as a quality dining venue, offering exquisite locally-sourced produce cooked to perfection.
Seafood is our speciality, whether you want traditional fish and chips or something a little more contemporary.
And if you want a real taste of north east Scotland, our Cullen skink - a traditional smoked haddock, potato and cream soup - is simply not to be missed.
The picturesque seaside town of Stonehaven lies on the north east coast of Aberdeenshire.
It is just 20 minutes from Aberdeen, close enough to enjoy the hustle of city life, yet offering another world of peace and tranquillity.
It is easily accessible by road and has a regular bus service to and from Aberdeen, as well as the surrounding towns.
Stonehaven is served by its own railway station with frequent trains to Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and all stops in between.
The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route - or the Aberdeen bypass - means it is easier than ever to visit Stonehaven and The Ship Inn from the north and the west.
