Welcome to Middle Farm and Cottages, a family run small farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Shropshire Hills. This special, tucked away smallholding is also home to three Gold Award holiday cottages, rare breed British Lop pigs, critically endangered Soay sheep, Aylesbury ducks, a mix of chickens, Max the cat and free to pick, home-grown veg.
Only a few miles away from Church Stretton you can watch wild ponies graze on the Long Mynd, soak up the spectacular views from the Shropshire Hills, or just walk the 1/2 mile to our local, much loved pub The Bottle & Glass, with open fires and home-cooked food (take away too). As we live on the farm we'll be here to help you find the very best places to walk your dogs, ride your bikes, fly your kites or simply discover this spectacular county.

One of the loveliest things I was told in the decade of running Middle Farm, was how a couple had enjoyed properly talking with one another again, listening to the noises of the countryside, walking and breathing in the cleaner air.
The mobile didn't ping constantly with notifications, they could get messages on their terms and not the instant it was sent.
They made time to walk, relax and enjoy each others conversation leaving Middle Farm, like many of our guests, with their shoulders visibly more relaxed.

All three cottages have been beautifully refurbished to an excellent standard, providing Gold Award, luxury four star self catering accommodation.
These traditional buildings date back as far as the 16th century and each of them is entirely self contained.
They can be booked and enjoyed by couples, friends or families individually or as a group booking.
We have one travel cot and two high chairs available free of charge.
The maximum number of guests we can accommodate is ten excluding babies.
We understand that when you go away you can never really be sure about how well you're going to sleep which is why we have chosen high quality comfortable orthopaedic mattresses made up with Egyptian cotton bed linen and hypoallergenic duvet and pillows.

Daisy's Place is a beautiful dog friendly cottage for up to two guests, perfect for couples wanting a tranquil break away.
It was converted from a spacious old stone building and has been superbly furnished.
The ground floor has an open plan living area with an excellently equipped kitchen (electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and mini freezer), a sitting room with a new and very comfortable double sofa and armchair, flat screen smart TV (so you can login to your own Netflix etc) and DVD, as well as a spacious dining area.
It was converted from a spacious old stone building and has been superbly furnished.
The ground floor has an open plan living area with an excellently equipped kitchen (electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and mini freezer), a sitting room with a new and very comfortable double sofa and armchair, flat screen smart TV (so you can login to your own Netflix etc) and DVD, as well as a spacious dining area.
Whether you're cooking or just enjoying a refreshment there are several areas at Middle Farm designed to offer the perfect retreat outside.
An elderly byre that makes up part of the Middle Farm courtyard has been carefully converted to house a log burning barbecue and free standing barbecue.
This area is undercover so perfect for the rainy days with a beautiful, adjacent shared patio surrounded by mature honeysuckle and roses.
There is ample seating and fire pit for all guests as well as sun loungers reserved for the UK's best weather.

These pigs have an excellent life, with access to shelter inside a huge cattle shed lined with straw and approximately two acres of ground for rooting around in.
All our pigs are slow grown, lovingly reared and benefit from a regular supply of grass cuttings, garden leftovers and supermarket fruit and veg - as well as conventional pig food of course.
We welcome around 20-30 piglets a year to the farm.
Friends, guests and those in the know are always welcome to choose cuts from our freezers or enquire about the pork online.
