Falconhurst Gardens Open for all! We are delighted to announce that we will be throwing open our garden gates for visits on Wednesdays & Thursdays between 10-4. Come and see what we are up to! This is a garden that has been cared for and nurtured by the same family since 1850 with wonderful trees, wide paths and borders and woodland walks. We provide vegetables and flowers for the Farm Shop; lambs in the spring and relaxing vistas all year round.

Falconhurst is a much loved family home.
Each generation of Talbots has used the house differently, changed the layout, built, re-built, pulled down bits, but each has loved it wholeheartedly.
It is special and we hope that all who come here experience that feeling.
It was built by John Chetwynd Talbot in 1852.
He was a brilliant young lawyer from an aristocratic background who had a vision of creating a beautiful country house as a getaway for his family together with a model village including a Church, school and farm.

Our pedigree free range pigs are outdoor reared in natural woodland and in late November our boar porkers are available!
Our pigs are all pedigree Gloucester Old Spot.
This is a 'rare breed' of pig (but not 'at risk') which is suitable for outside rearing and indeed the piglets do exceptionally well roaming and rooting in the woods from the day they are born.
The emphasis is on 'natural' rearing on a small scale.
The piglets are weaned relatively late, they are fed so that they grow at a natural pace and are reared outdoors in attractive spacious woodland with added treats from the garden - vegetables and fruit.

Take the little path in the south east corner of the garden down into the woods.
Daffodils, bluebells, orchids abound.
Cross the little bridge and return to the garden, arriving at the bottom of the marquee lawn.
Explore the shepherd's hut (it really WAS a shepherd's hut!).
Carry on for a longer walk through the bluebell woods and join up with the public footpath leading to Hole Cottage (the oldest building in the area), then retrace your steps into the garden.
Continue past the bridge and gate through the beech and bluebell woods until you come to the public footpath.

We have two separate venues that might work for your big day, the Garden and Falconhurst barn.
The Garden is the perfect place to have your wedding if you like the idea of a truly bespoke experience, the garden becomes a blank canvas and you can paint your own picture of how you want it to look by choosing your own marquee, caterer etc.
