The Surrounding countryside is abound with many excellent golf courses and is a haven for hillwalkers. The famous Tetley Tea Trail is only yards from our doorstep. Scotlandwell itself dates back to 84AD when the Romans were the earliest official residents, and has one of the last natural underground springwater wells still working in Scotland.

The lounge with its open fire has a relaxed warm and friendly atmosphere proving the ideal place to meet friends for a drink or relax after an evening meal, with a wide selection of Scottish and Continental beers, lagers, ales, spirits and malt whiskys you'll be spoilt for choice!
Services
The course provides a challenge for the serious golfer and a real test for those who tend to hook and equally offers a pleasant golfing experience for all.
The par 70, 18 holes (6155 yards) has a testing finishing 5 holes which holds the attention to the very end.
Here the River Ore comes into play with the par 3, 14th "Burn" hole a particular feature.
In addition to the excellent playing characteristics of the course there are also excellent practice facilities which include a nine hole putting green, substantial practice area (more than adequate for the longest hitter) and also a net practice area.
Set in the picturesque village of Scotlandwell, The Well Country Inn provides a friendly, comfortable base from which to visit the many attractions in the area.
Good bar meals are available and good real ale on tap, served in the pleasant atmosphere of this attractive country hostelry.
Good room was clean and tidy and reasonably well decorated and facilities were adequate.
The only downside was that I was expecting a cooked breakfast but was informed at check in that they thought no one was booked in and given the chef the next few days off so there wasn't any breakfast available!
