If you are looking for a quality caravan and camping park in the Yorkshire Dales then why not come and enjoy our wonderful park situated in the picturesque village of Fearby, 2 miles from Masham in the Yorkshire Dales. Easily accessible from the A1 (8 miles) the park is ideally located, providing you with the base to enjoy the wonders of dales life and its attractions.

Located in a quiet little unheard of corner the Yorkshire Dales the Black Swan provides an ideal location to explore the dales. Many of the paths on O.S. maps are accessible but are not well trodden, you will have to rely on your navigation skills at times. We have designed local walks starting and finishing at the Black Swan, one of which takes you to "The Druids Temple" a 19th Century folly.

Britain's largest monastic ruin, was founded in 1132 by 13 Benedictine monks seeking a simpler life.
They later became Cistercian monks.
The temple was constructed in about 1820, at the height of the folly craze.
William Danby, the master of Swinton Hall, had his men build thetemple because he thought that they didn't have enough work to do.
There are a number of pathswithin the forest in which the temple lies and also a viewing area over Leighton Reservoir.
The NYMR has featured in several feature length films over the years including, Brideshead Revisited and All Creatures Great and Small.
The Druids Temple was built in the 1820s by William Danby, squire of Swinton, near Masham.
The building of the miniature "Stone Henge" provided a shilling a day to many local people who were unemployed.
Distance approximately 5 miles (8km) From The Black Swan walk on the road up the hill and turn left at the school and follow the road, cross the metal bridge and turn right.
Walk uphill and then turn right towards Broadmires.
Carry on through the farm and go through the gate at the end of the yard.
This stunning walk starts and ends at the fascinating ruins of Jervaulx Abbey.
It takes you through stunning parkland, over lush pasture fields and through the historic village of Thornton Steward.
You'll pass the impressive Danby Hall and cross the River Ure over two historic bridges.
After the walk, visit the Jervaulx Tea Rooms for home made refreshments and the Gift Shop which sells a wide range of products including a lovely booklet describing the village's history and other walks in the area.
Black Swan, Fearby to Masham - 2.5 miles About one hour's walking time with the option to return via Marfields gravel pit nature reserve, a total of 6 miles, about 3 hour's walking time.
From the side of the Black Swan walk down the caravan field to the fence at the bottom.
At the fence turn left and go over the stile in the corner of the caravan field.
Cross the next field to the stile in the hedge opposite.
Cross the stile and walk along the edge of the next narrow field with the hedge on your left to the stile in the corner of the field.
