Isallt Guest House, built of local Welsh stone and slate, is a large detached Victorian house in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is situated adjacent to the world famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway and close to Zip World and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns. Our slate terrace offers a spectacular view of the Moelwyn Mountains.

Isallt guest house was built around 1870 for the local Blaenau Ffestiniog Doctor.
It has been used for many purposes since, but was converted to a guest house in 1999.
Isallt is situated in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, right next to the Ffestiniog railway, with bus and rail transport, shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, banks and a post office, all just a short walk away.
We have 6 rooms, which incorporate one family room, one king-size room, two double rooms, one twin and one single, all with en-suite showers.

If we can re-let the room then no charges will apply otherwise we may charge a minimum cost of one night's stay.

By the beginning of the 20th century, 4000 of the town's men were employed in the slate industry.
The town has much to remind visitors of this Victorian enterprise and of 'old Welsh life', including the slate caverns and the Ffestiniog railway that was built to transport the slate to the harbour at Porthmadog.
Today there is a lively community in the town, with clubs, societies, bands and 'Welsh male voice choirs' (Listen to the Celtic Welsh language in song).
