Services
It would not be far fetched it was love at first sight when we saw the building and the beautiful area of Dumfries and Galloway.
We decided that it was a perfect time to start the next phase of our lives together with our 1 year old son and a very adorable ( read very spoilt ) cocker spaniel Hamish.
Our goal from the very beginning was to create a hotel that is not formal ( as one would expect from a country house ) but essentially create a place that was relaxed, welcoming, friendly and a home away from home.
The hotel was called the Emespie House Hotel until 1990 when it was changed to The Urr Valley.
We have changed the name back to the Ernespie house hotel as we felt that it was important to reflect the history of a house that has been an integral part of the history of Stewartry.
It was converted into a hotel around1947 from a private residence.
The surrounding lands, farm and cottages originally were one estate with the house (now the Hotel) being the main residence.
Over the years property and land was disposed of leaving mainly the farm (situated along the side of the hotel) and the house.
We are delighted to bring to you some very unique and special offers.
These have been carefully created with our partners and are exclusive to Ernespie House.
We are confident that you will find these inspiring and enjoy the unique land that is Dumfries and Galloway.
So if its golfing, experiencing the delightful food on offer at Mr Pook's kitchen, a visit to the Threave gardens or a just a great value break this is the space to explore.
What even better we are constantly updating these offers to bring the best of the region to you.
We know how important it is to keep the little people happy family.
That's why as would expect in a family run country house we don't compromise on space.
The family rooms feature generous space with a queen-size bed taking centre stage for mum and dad and a single bed to accommodate the little person We also have an option to out in a Z bed at a small charge of 20.00 should that be required.
The largest room in the hotel, in keeping with the ethos of our hotel this suite is named after Jenny my wife's siter and my sister-in-law.
Jenny was instrumental in the way the suite is decorated and laid out.
The master bedroom of the suite features a comfortable & beautiful super king sleigh bed and lovely and warm furnishings.
The suite also features a separate sitting seating area which has a lovely chesterfield in situ.
The Jennyfer suite is a very popular with the brides and the seating area is used by the bridal party to get dressed for the big day.
