Dove Cottage
Dove Cottage: a 5 star Bed and Breakfast in North East Wales, close to Liverpool, Chester and Deeside and yet a world away. An early eighteenth century house (circa 1720) that has been sympathetically modernised to offer you outstanding value and comfort. We were awarded 5 stars in 2010 and have held the Gold Award for the last 3 years. So what makes us special?

For breakfast we use local produce wherever possible and insist on the highest quality ingredients. For example, sausage and bacon come from Steve Vaughan's, the award winning traditional family butcher which fortunately, is just down the road from us. We also provide fruit from our garden in season. A breakfast at Dove Cottage is a great way to start the day!

Our two en-suite bedrooms are spacious and are furnished to the highest quality, combining both old and new for maximum comfort. Both rooms are individually furnished with antique furniture and luxurious fabrics and highest quality Egyptian cotton bedding. There's free wireless internet connection, a flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities in each of our rooms.

Our garden is open to the public once a year as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
This is a scheme whereby private gardens are opened to the public once or twice a year with the entrance fees going to charity.
Since its foundation, the National Gardens Scheme has donated over 45 million to nominated beneficiaries, with nearly 23 million in the last ten years alone.
We're rather proud of being accepted as part of this scheme and work hard to keep up the standard.
There is an established vegetable area, 2 ponds (1 for wildlife), a summerhouse and a woodland planted area.
There are a host of places to visit and things to do in and around Penyffordd whether you're traveling by road or rail.

Penyffordd is a small village in Flintshire, north-east Wales.
The village is about 3 miles from the Wales-England border, on the course of the River Alyn.
Nearby Hope, or in the Welsh language, Yr Hob, belongs to a small group of closely related villages in the local area, including Caergwrle, Abermorddu and Cefn-y-bedd.
