West End Guest House
We continue to ensure all rooms are thoroughly cleaned as per latest guidelines and our breakfast room is set up for safe social distancing. As a result of this, during busier periods, we may need to arrange time-slots with you to ensure everyone can move in and out of the dining area safely. In a peaceful location, 10 minutes walk from Richmond town centre, lies West End Guest House where a very warm welcome awaits you.

Or simply spend your weekend soaking-up the relaxed atmosphere of Richmond with our Norman Castle, beautiful River Swale and historic Market Square!. We regret we have no family rooms or facilities for babies therefore do not accept children under the age of 10.
Services
Most of the pubs in Richmond town centre serve traditional British 'Pub Grub' (Pie & Chips, Fish & Chips, Steak & Chips, Gammon & Chips.)
The standard is usually good wherever you go and several of the pubs (such as the Black Lion on Finkle Street) have more than just chips on the menu.
If you're eating early then usually no need to reserve a table but they start to get busy from around 7:30pm.
There's a wide range of restaurants in Richmond and definitely something to suit all tastes.
The Kings Head Hotel is more traditional British cuisine and there are Thai, Chinese, Indian and Italian restaurants in town.
The Yorkshire Dales has a vast network of footpaths and many are readily accessible from the Guesthouse.
There are also many shorter walks (anything from 30 mins to a full day) which take in the magnificent local scenery.
A favourite of ours is the route up to Willance's Leap and then back along the River Swale.
If you want something shorter then there's Round Howe or a stroll into town and drop down to the old station.
Visit our RouteYou page, send us a message or have a chat when you arrive and we can point you in the right direction.
The World famous Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk passes just a few hundred metres from the Guesthouse.
We are the first B&B that walkers come to on their approach to Richmond when walking the route from West to East.
The best way to find us is to drop down from the official route a little early.
There's a footpath across a field just a few minutes' walk after the Richmond Sign/Stone Bench on Westfield Road.
If you're on Mountain Bikes then use the bridleway instead, it's a right turn onto a wide stony path about 200m after the Richmond sign.
Richmond itself has many boutique shops selling antiques, homewares, clothes, gifts and souvenirs and there are several local artists with outlets in Richmond all showing-off their locally inspired works.
It's well worth taking a trip down to the The Station where you'll find the Richmond Brewing Company, a bakery, ice cream shop, cafe and cinema.
If you need a supermarket then Co-op and Lidl are in the town centre and there's a large Tesco over at Catterick Garrison (about 10 mins by car).
The Post Office is on Finkle Street and there are several ATMs dotted around the Market Square.
45 Reeth Road, Richmond, DL10 4EX - look out for the blue sign about 1/4 mile down Reeth Road then enter through the gateway.
Follow the driveway and just beyond the Log Cabin you will see the car park and front door to the Guest House.
From the market square, walk up Finkle Street and then bear left onto the cobbled street called Newbiggin.
Keep walking straight on (passed the Unicorn pub on your right) and then turn right at the end onto a street called Cravengate.
Now go straight on, cross the roundabout and follow Victoria Road.
