Services
Our lovely Main House dates back to 1866.
It was built for the Duke of Bedford's Mine Captain, James Richards, who was responsible for the mining of copper and tin in the Tamar Valley.
The house remained inextricably linked to mining throughout the boom years until 1918, when it became part of the Bedford Estate.
On a clear day you can still see the chimneys of several of the Cornish mines from our patio and restaurant.
In 1967, the house was converted into a restaurant, which is where our rich foodie history began - founder Sonia Stevenson was the first British woman to be awarded a Michelin star!
A luxurious private home in the 1800s with a rich history, this 4 star country house hotel offers a warm welcome, understated elegance and stunning views.
Surrounded by countryside and just a stone's throw from both Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Dartmoor National Park, The Horn of Plenty is in one of the most beautiful parts of Devon.
With endless miles of countryside to explore and spectacular views, our location makes for a truly relaxing escape from your routine.
Situated halfway between Devon's North and South coastline, and on the border between Devon and Cornwall, our surroundings are not only stunning, but make us ideally located for exploring the delights of the West Country.
