Higher Menadew Farm is our home and we have two children Samantha and James.
Andrew was born and bred at Higher Menadew, his parent's having moved here in 1944, and Anita originates from London.
We appreciate that quality holidays are important, they are a time to relax, refresh and enjoy.
Consequently, when we diversified and opened our first cottage in 1999 we set about making a "home from home" where that could happen.
Since then we have worked hard to create a place where families and couples can escape and unwind in comfortable cottages and with facilities that make a holiday effortless and pleasurable.
We have designed and equipped our cottages with thought and care to provide a super place for your holiday.
The cottages are comfortable, welcoming and warm with wooden beams, comfy sofas, beds with pocket spring mattresses, bathroom towels, flat screen digital TVs, DVD players, and broadband wifi internet access.
Kitchens are fully equipped ready to prepare any meal, we even supply environmentally friendly washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.
For families with young children we can provide cot, highchair, stair-gate and other items so you don't have to bring everything with you.
Byron is a charming ground floor conversion and its name originates from being a former byre.
The cottage is fronted with an attractive open oak porch.
The porch leads into the stylish open plan living area with high exposed wooden trusses, fully equipped kitchen, pine furnished dining area, and matching sofas in the spacious lounge area.
The two attractive bedrooms, again with pine flooring and exposed trusses, overlook the patio and garden area.
Ground floor: open plan, beamed living room with sitting room, kitchen and dining areas; double bedroom; twin bedroom; family bathroom with bath and fitted shower.
Swallow's Nest is charming, spacious and detached 3 bedroom holiday cottage with traditional wood flooring, log burner and a raised garden to the rear.
On entering this cottage the inviting living room, formerly the old cart house, leads off the hall to the left.
The exposed beams and trusses, traditional wooden flooring, cosy wood burning stove inset in a feature fireplace, comfortable soft sofas and tasteful dcor make this a real 'home from home'.
The separate kitchen/dining area is light, bright, well equipped and has a pine farmhouse table.
The inspiration for the name 'Rafters' comes from the truly impressive first floor open plan living area, which features exposed wooden beams and classic wooden flooring.
Upstairs, the stylish galleried open plan living room has a cosy wood burner and a dining table large enough for ten should friends accompany in the neighbouring cottage.
Great for family get togethers.
Ground floor: hall; double bedroom with en-suite shower room; two twin bedrooms; family bathroom with bath and fitted shower.
