Pen-y-bont Hotel
The Owners Angela and Brian met at the Pen-y-Bont Hotel in 2005. Angela had recently been singing on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in Alaska and was staying at her parent's holiday home nearby. From there she was to set out on the next phase of her life. Meanwhile she had a part time bar job at the Pen-y-Bont Hotel. Brian walked in with his Mum and a friend.

Mum had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and it was to be one last holiday while she was still enjoying life (she actually confounded the medical profession and lived for a further fourteen years.) From behind the bar Angela asked "what would you like to drink?" In keeping with the romance of the location they fell in love and bought the place.

Well, okay, I left some bits out but I'm sure you get the gist. Here we are now in 2021, having developed five letting rooms and transformed the business. It has been an adventure worthy of a book. In the quiet winter months we will be happy to share a story or two with you by the log fires!
Services
Our three double rooms are each named after a local historical character, and contain a folder describing the life and times in which they lived.
Rooms can either be accessed by stairs from the front of the Hotel or by a ramp to the rear.
All rooms have a South East facing aspect; this looks across the road to the churchyard and the majestic sweep of Craig Goch mountainside beyond.
Superlative views of the lake can be obtained from outside the building, particularly from our lakeside Beer Garden.
Renovated to a high standard in 2020, Sea Moss Cabin is Chalet 1 on the Woodlands Holiday Park, Bryncrug, LL36 9UH.
Like the Pen-y-Bont Hotel, it is on the B4405 Tywyn road, but 8 miles further on towards the coast.
It is a beautiful holiday cabin for two, and fully accessible.
It is positioned on the car park directly opposite to the Clubhouse.
It has it's own parking space, as well as patio and garden areas.
These amenities have a sweeping view of the fields descending towards the coast.
This South Westerly vista gives views of the sunset over the sea.
