Chirnside Hall Hotel
You may find that we have made a few changes around the hotel in accordance with the government guidelines but you can relax, knowing that our dedicated team will be working hard in the background to make your stay as safe, relaxing and enjoyable as ever. Chirnside Hall is a small country-house hotel in the Scottish Borders. Privately owned by Christian Korsten, it combines the best elements of traditional and modern hospitality - fabulous nineteenth-century architecture with twenty-first century comfort.

The house was built in 1834 as a holiday home for an affluent Edinburgh businessman. Almost two centuries later, it remains a wonderful and relaxing retreat. The elegant dining room and bedrooms are the perfect backdrop for good food, roaring open fires, and stunning views of the Cheviot Hills. Secluded and peaceful, and just a short drive from the Lammermuir Hills and Berwickshire coast, Chirnside is still convenient for the shops and sights of Edinburgh and Newcastle.

As a small and independent hotel, we're here to indulge you.

Our ten spacious en-suite bedrooms all have individual character and wonderful views.
Traditional furnishings retain the country-house feel, but we've added levels of comfort and convenience inconceivable to the original Victorian occupants - for example, free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen televisions, and hairdryers.
Deep comfortable beds, soft wool carpeting, and fresh cotton linens add to the atmosphere of indulgence - as do the luxurious toiletries you'll find in the modern, en-suite bathrooms.
Eating and drinking at Chirnside Hall is an experience to be savoured, whether you want a romantic dinner for two, or a night out with friends.
We welcome non-residents in the restaurant, as well as residents.
Game comes from our own estate, and we use meat, fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables from local farms and suppliers.
Our menu usually includes iconic Scottish produce - from scallops to roe deer to Aberdeen Angus beef to raspberries, depending on what's in season.
Our chef Tim Holmes daily works culinary wonders on other local ingredients too - from home-smoked pigeon to langoustine tortellini.
A perfect wedding needs a perfect setting - somewhere unique, where you won't feel part of a wedding 'production line'.
Chirnside Hall is a magical location for an intimate and romantic wedding, where every aspect can be tailored to create the perfect day.
We can host a reception for up to 40 people inside the house, or a bigger reception in a marquee in the grounds.
You can hold the wedding ceremony in the hotel or the grounds, or at a local church.
As well as wishing your wedding to be romantic, you want it to be stress-free - in the planning as well as on the day.
One of Chirnside Hall's great charms is its intimate feel: privately-owned, with just ten bedrooms, it's no corporate giant or identikit chain.
This makes it a wonderful place for a special occasion - for anything from a birthday party, to a wedding anniversary, to a family reunion.
With exclusive use of our ten bedrooms, dining room and other facilities, you can create your own country house party to remember.
As well as supplying a great location, relaxing open fires, and splendid food and drink, we can add other elements to make the celebration more memorable.
