Situated in Harmans Cross near Swanage and Corfe Castle, the accommodation is central to the Isle of Purbeck, an ideal location from which to explore the many nearby places of interest, including: the sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage, Wareham, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the Jurassic Coast (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Other attractions nearby include Brownsea Island, Poole and Bournemouth, and within walking distance is the Swanage Heritage Railway.

The Isle of Purbeck cliffs are truly spectacular and lead onto the notable geological formations of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Your hosts at April Cottage are Joanna and Peter Burri-Weaver who offer a personalised level of Anglo-Swiss hospitality sure to make any guest feel welcome. In addition, not many guest accommodations can boast an ex-Olympian and 1st SAS descendant for hosts.

As well as a great location and a friendly welcome, our full English breakfast, which comes with every stay, can be taken in the large gardens, weather permitting of course.
Services
As the name already suggests our accommodation in the main house is in a very cottage style.
On the first floor we have one large, en suite, double room, which is accessible by a spiral stair case.
You can sleep under the big Velux window which has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and a clear view of the stars at night.
The room also offers a comfortable, sitting room area, with a large selection of old books.
The power shower, with its handmade French tiles, has been added recently and the double room can be fitted with an extra bed.
If you have questions about staying at April Cottage or Lapland Lodge please use the contact form, someone will be in touch as soon as possible, thank you.
There are two routes into the Isle of Purbeck, either via the A351 through Wareham and Corfe Castle or via Poole, Sandbanks and the Chain Ferry to Studland.
If you are travelling to April Cottage & Lapland Lodge via Wareham look out for the sign to South Instow in Harmans Cross which is on the right hand side of the main road to Swanage after you have passed through Corfe Castle.
Dorset is one of the most beautiful counties in England and has been the inspiration for generations of writers, poets and artists with its rolling hills and spectacular Jurassic coastline.
