The Mill has featured twice in The Sunday Times as a special place to stay; and The Guardian newspaper recommending The Mill in their 'top 40 cosy B&B's for the winter' article. In 2021, The Mill appeared in The Sunday Observer in a feature called 'Literary stays'.
Inspected and selected by Sawdays, The Mill is included in Sawdays 'great British B&B guide'. It has achieved a 2021 Recognition of Excellence award from the HotelsCombined group; and has been awarded three certificates of excellence by Tripadvisor. The Melford Room is open plan and spacious and has the wow factor! It features a sumptuous, handmade, freestanding brass and nickel bath in the living area and beautiful hand polished cast iron radiators.
There is a seperate en-suite bathroom and shower with luxury tiles. A small outdoor seating area offers a lovely vista toward the soaring spires of Melford Hall.

The single storey cottage can be seen just to the left of the mill, complete with one octagonal chimney stack.
There is evidence of a conservatory on the South end of the cottage on the photograph where guests whom book the Garden Room now sit.
The mill is not so visible now looking North as it is obscured by trees which include a large willow.
The main house is steeped in history and is Grade Two listed, serving the village in years gone by as a part of a working mill, before the mill was destroyed in a fire.

We are a family home and do not employ staff, therefore our check in is between 4pm and 7pm.
If you are wishing to check-in outside of these hours we will happily try to accommodate this but it must be arranged at time of booking.
