The Mill House sits nestled between a water mill and a 900 year old church with its distinctive rounded apse dating back to Saxon times. The St Giles Church is open most days between 10am-12pm for visitors and has a unique village shop located in the vestry. The Hotel has been run as a family business by the current owners since the year 2000 and they've put their heart and soul into lovingly refurbishing this large 300 year old property.

The property has been altered over the centuries with a Georgian faade added to the front approximately 150 years ago. Although Langford is situated in a semi-rural location, it is a 5 minute drive away from the historic town of Maldon and 5 minutes drive away from the A12 (from the Hatfield Peverel exit). We are a 15 minute drive away from Chelmsford City centre and a 25 minute drive away from Colchester.

The part of the river adjacent to the Hotel is known as the Langford cut which joins into the freshwater side of the river Blackwater. Otters have made a comeback in this area and it is not unusual to see monk jack deer, owls, herons, kingfishers, finches, blue tits, robins, grey squirrels, rabbits and bats.
Services
I read a lot of good reviews, and was hopeful, and I was not disappointed, this is a fabulous establishment, one big bonus is the excellent Customer Service, .
I dont want to say its fantastic or give it 10 out of 10 or say the staff are fantastic, and the breakfast is amazing, as is the lunch and.
We found a deal to stay at the Mill House Hotel on Ebay of all places.
Upon arrival after a 3 hour drive we parked up, checjed in and ate.
We had been allocated a ground floor room and as my wife is a late sleeper the staff accommodated our request for a quieter room.
