Stags Head Bar & Hotel
Conveniently situated in the heart of Bowness on Windermere, we offer the ideal getaway location for exploring this picturesque and historic town. You will find us tucked away behind St Martin's Church (the parish church of Bowness), which is the oldest part of the town, and with its charming web of narrow lanes (known as Lowside) you will easily get a feel of what this place was like before the arrival of railway.

Bowness itself is home to a range of varied and interesting independent shops, boutiques, galleries and cafes that offers a great alternative to the usual high street. We're only a stones throw away from Windermere which is the #1 tourist destination in the Lake District for good reason. One cannot appreciate its true beauty until you see it first hand, and as well as being a top spot for sightseeing is also a popular location for sailing and watersports.

We have a large municipal car-park only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. If you are using public transport we are on a regular bus route (599) that takes under 15 minutes from Windermere Station and stops just by the church.
