A peaceful and friendly retreat in the heart of the English Lake District, Yewfield is ideally situated for walking and enjoying this exquisite region of rare natural beauty which has been the inspiration for many poets and artists. Yewfield offers vegetarian bed & breakfast and luxury self-catering accommodation. With its stylish rooms, stunning views and peaceful ambience, Yewfield has been awarded a VisitEngland 5 Star Rating.

Situated in 80 acres of private grounds with lovely walks from the doorstep. Whether it's a gentle stroll or a good hike to the high peaks, Yewfield offers many opportunities for exploring this unique national park. The gardens provide a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the stunning views, or on cooler days, sit by the log fire in the lounge and catch up with a good book.

Yewfield occasionally caters for independent yoga events but we are delighted to announce that we are now offering our own Yoga at Yewfield. The perfect combination: being cosseted within Yewfield's wonderful accommodation and being absorbed in your yoga.

It has been a place of inspiration for many famous Lakeland poets.
Set in a quiet, elevated position with panoramic views over the Vale of Esthwaite, Lake Windermere and the Fells beyond, Yewfield is situated in over 80 acres of its own grounds.
The house itself, with its impressive Gothic architecture, dates back to 1859.
The extensive grounds around the house include native woodland, rough fell pasture, a small tarn and a stream.
Double and twin rooms at Yewfield are individually appointed to a very high standard, all with en-suite bath and shower or walk in shower, TV/DVD, and tea and coffee making facilities.
We have 10 ensuite rooms in the main house plus several rooms situated at Rose How cottage and coach house next door.
The public rooms of Yewfield provide quiet corners for you to curl up with a book or just enjoy the quiet ambience of the house.
Music, books and DVDs are available to borrow from the extensive library.
Tarn Hows is just a few minutes walk from the house and is one of the most photographed areas of the Lakes.
A map of surrounding walks which includes Tarn Hows circuit, Black Crag and Hawkshead village as well as a walk around our extensive grounds and garden is freely available.
You can also borrow a map covering Central Lakes from the reception.
We are always happy to suggest a walking, running or cycling routes.
The three night B&B plus dinner on two nights offer is now available every night throughout the season.

Some of our rooms can accommodate an extra person on a pull-out sofa bed or day bed charged at 30.00 per night.
Children under 9 years of age cannot be accommodated in the guest house, but are welcome in the self-catering apartments.
Pets are not allowed in the main house, however we do accept pets in our outside rooms and self-catering apartments.
Set in over two acres of private grounds, Ambleside Manor is a lovely Victorian Country Guest House offering comfortable rooms on a vegetarian (vegan options available) bed and breakfast basis.
There are lovely walks straight from the house into the beautiful Lake District countryside.
