Briar Cottages
Looking for a holiday cottage on water? Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Slater who were married in Briar Cottages garden on Loch Earn by humanist Mary Wallace Martin and Karen have stayed in Little Briar with their pets over several years. They wanted a simple wedding in a stunning location and could think of no better place than beside Stan The Stag in our garden on the banks of Loch Earn.

Entering into the spirit of Scotland, Martin wore a kilt and the couple opted for a celtic hand fasting ceremony. We were delighted to witness the event and toast the couple with fizz and cake made by Karen. The couple finished off the day with dinner at the Clachan Cottage Hotel and relaxed for the next few days with their pets before heading south for a party with family and friends.

Anyone can organise a humanist wedding at Briar Cottages while staying here if the wedding is private and for no more than the number of guests in the cottages. We have now witnessed 8 couples getting married, 1 engagement and I renewing of vows.
Services
We (Fraser and Kim) moved to Lochearnhead in 2008 to live in Briar Cottage, a 17th century "B listed" thatched cottage.
Known as Easter Achraw until 1900, the earliest inhabitants on record were MacGregor's, although they used the pseudonym Murray.
The name MacGregor could only be used on pain of death after King James VI decreed it so in 1604, following alleged atrocities by the clan.
We keep the postcards above in our lounge.
They are titled "On Loch Earn Side, Lochearnhead" from the Valentine's Postcard series and both were posted to Pitlochry.
Briar Cottages Graced by The Presence of a Cavendish School Girl - Maddy Bryce Scottish Film project.
Stan The Stag at Briar Cottages, has a reputation for turning heads.
This time he drew the attention of "Cavendish" script writer Maddy Bryce (also the leading lady "Gracie Bennett") while she was searching for beautiful Scottish locations that are rarely shown on film.
Maddy is a writer, producer and actress.
She is working on a series of short films to showcase her story and characters in Cavendish - surrounding a fictitious Scottish School.
