read more › We took over the business from Hannah's parents, Roger and Kathy Woodley. The parish of St Newlyn East originally boasted 11 manors of which Degembris was one. It encompassed the village of Mitchell but this too became a manor in its own right in 1301. The Degembris name has evolved from Tikenbret in 1241 through Tygambret, Tykenbrede, Tycambred, Tygembres to Degembrys in 1461. It is believed that there is nothing left of the original manor house although it was the chief mansion in the parish.

read more › A fairly recent addition at Degembris, our lake enhances the already stunning countryside views. It has blended into the landscape beautifully and looks as though it's always been there. Another bonus is the attraction of a wide variety of wildlife from the deers that come out of the woods to drink to the many dragonflies. Since it's creation in 2015, it has been a topic of great discussion especially as we discover that so many of our guests love fishing. Watch this space for more developments!

Set in the heart of St Newlyn East, near Newquay, The Pheasant Inn is a newly refurbished country pub. It offers home cooked food and a great selection of real ales. Under new management for 2018, Paul, Sharon and Barney the golden retriever offer a very warm welcome and great service. Enjoy classic pub food that echoes the countryside on our doorstep. Soak up the cosy, ambience under low oak-beams or lounge by the log fire.
