Gillian and Steve are pleased to welcome you to their spacious Guest House and offer a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere that will make your stay a pleasant and memorable one. We welcome all our guests with afternoon tea/coffee and refreshments in our guests lounge or beautiful garden. We are situated in the stunning and unspoilt Upper Eden Valley, bordering the Yorshire Dales National Park and near to the Lake District which has recently been awarded World heritage status.

There are many enjoyable walks right from the door, around the historic sites in the town or into the countryside. Kirkby Stephen is very accessible by road and rail. All the shops, pubs, restaurants are just a stroll down the street and everything you may need is close by. The Upper Eden Visitor Centre offers lots of tourist information on things to do in the area.

Kirkby Stephen is almost half way through Wainwrights famous Coast to Coast walk. C2C Packhorse provides a minibus to St. Bees each day leaving at 8.30 am, a minibus returns from Robin Hoods Bay at 4.00 pm each day arriving in Kirkby Stephen at 6.15 pm, they provide a secure parking compound where you can leave your car for the duration of your walk.

Take a look around the house and see for yourself, there is a comfortable Guests Lounge with TV, books and free Wifi.
Complimentary tea and coffee is available from the dining room at all times.
Exchange your books from the book swap library, have a game of chess or just relax after a long day walking or touring.
We have four spacious guest rooms at Fletcher House, they are all on the first floor which is very accessible by a wide staircase.
All of our rooms have en-suite with shower WC and wash basin, they have flat screen TV with freeview and radio.
Hairdryer, Tea and Coffee trays are also provided plus free wifi.
Room One A favourite with our guests is large twin room at the rear and has very comfortable beds and lovely antique furnishings.
Room Two Another large twin room with comfortable beds at the front of the house overlooking the front garden with pine furnishings and a seating area.
Please let us know in advance if you have food allergies or intolerances, we can cater for your requirements.
Breakfast is served from 8.00 am - 9.00 am.
Earlier breakfast can be served for guests who need an early departure.
We ask you to pre-order the previous evening if you require a cooked breakfast.
Bevarages, Juices, Cereals, Toast, Fruit, Yogurts and Preserves are laid out for you to help yourself.
Eden is a wonderful area for walking and sightseeing.
Kirkby Stephen was the first town in Cumbria to be awarded the Walkers are Welcome status.
Explore the National Nature Reserve of Smardale Gill with an abudance of wild flowers including several types of orchids, rare species of butterflies, red squirrels and many types of bird life.
The Northern Viaduct round is a fully accessible path following the disused Stainmore Railway.
The walk starting at Stenkrith Park where from the Millenium Bridge you can experience spectacular views of whirlpools and rapids below as the river passes through a rocky gorge.
Watch out for the Macaws that fly round Kirkby Stephen they are bright colours of red blue and yellow you usually hear them before you see them.
They belonged to Mr. John Strutt who died in 2010 but are looked after by the John Strutt Conservation Foundation which was set up in 1994 and continues as a registered chariity.
